Unusual Combinations: Piano / Education Advocate / Dance

Darnell, a native of Baltimore, MD, understands Allegheny’s concept of unusual combinations. While most of his formal training is in music, he decided to go a different route in order to pursue his personal goal of becoming an advocate for education. He majored in music education as an undergraduate at Lebanon Valley College. Upon graduation he was invited out west to Washington State University to teach piano and complete his graduate degree. Education has long been a passion for him and although music education is no longer his full-time vocation, he is proud to be working within higher education where he is able to help students realize their college dreams.

When not working, Darnell likes to watch movies, take dance classes, and spend quality time with friends. He is excited about all of the great experiences to come during his time at Allegheny.
