Woodcock Creek Lake
Woodcock Creek Lake is a 333-acre lake that has swimming beaches, nature trails, and a beautiful view from the dam. Bald eagles and osprey are sometimes seen here.
Presque Isle State Park
Presque Isle State Park is a 3200-acre state park on an arching, sandy peninsula that juts into Lake Erie. The park has 21 miles of recreational trails, 13 beaches for swimming, and a marina. Popular activities at the park include swimming, boating, hiking, biking, and birdwatching.
French Creek flows 117 miles through the rolling hills and valleys of Pennsylvania until its confluence with the Allegheny River in Franklin. Rich in historical significance, incredible biodiversity, and recreational opportunities including fishing and canoeing, French Creek is truly a community treasure.

The Thurston Classic is a hot air ballon event and race, started in Meadville’s bicentennial year of 1988. Each year, hot air balloonists from several states come to Meadville to take off from Allegheny’s sports fields, glow bright in the night, and capture the imagination of all who watch.
Crawford County Fair
Held every August in Meadville, the Crawford County Fair is one of the largest agricultural venues east of the Mississippi River, and possibly the oldest county fair in Pennsylvania.
The annual Meadville Halloween Parade is Pennsylvania’s largest nighttime parade. People line up hours early to watch the parade, which showcases over 120 floats from local business and groups, and kicks off at sunset.
