This Fall I am starting my junior year here at Allegheny College. The past two years have been an incredibly life changing experience for me. Allegheny has helped me grow so much as a student and as a young adult. This was made possible thanks to your generous scholarship and I am eternally grateful for your contributions towards my education.
At Allegheny I am pursuing environmental studies with a minor in psychology. I am especially interested in human connection with the environment. I could not have asked for a better academic community here at Allegheny. I have met the most passionate and caring professors and fellow students.
I have gained important real-world experience the past two summers with internships which Allegheny made possible. Last summer I learned sustainable forestry practices in a local park in the Pittsburgh area and this summer I lived in Philadelphia and worked at Wissahickon Valley Park. Next spring I am hoping to study abroad in Lancaster, England which will be another incredibly valuable addition to my experience here at Allegheny College.
In the future I hope to have a career working to foster people’s connection and care for the natural world to create a happier, healthier, and more sustainable world for everyone. While that’s a lofty goal, Allegheny is preparing me so well to make a positive difference in the world.
