General Information and Policies

Due to COVID-19, Tippie Alumni Center is currently closed. Please visit the College’s COVID-19 website for the latest updates.

Hours of Operation:
The Tippie Alumni Center is open Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Special arrangements for the center to be open at other times might be possible depending on staff availability. A Tippie Alumni Center staff member or their designee must be present during all events.

Reserving Rooms:
Allegheny alumni, trustees, faculty, students and staff can reserve rooms provided the event is Allegheny-related, appropriate for the unique formal setting of the Alumni Center, and consistent with the purpose of the Center and the mission of the College. Allegheny-related events are those that are intended primarily for Allegheny alumni, trustees, faculty, students or staff, or that are hosted by an Allegheny College office or department. The Tippie Alumni Center may not be reserved for regularly scheduled ongoing meetings or classes. Tentative reservations may be made up to one year in advance, but will not be confirmed until four months prior to the date of the event. In rare cases, an official College function may necessitate cancellation of a reservation.

The Alumni Center is not currently available for more personally oriented occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings/commitment ceremonies and their receptions, or for dances of any kind.

If you are an on-campus constituent, please use Scheduler, Allegheny’s campus-wide room reservation program, to reserve a room. If you are off-campus constituent, please call (814) 332-5910 to reserve a room.

Catering:
All catering arrangements must be made through Gator Dining. No food or beverages may be brought into the facility from outside sources. Please contact Gator Dining by calling (814) 332-4387.

Alcohol:
Gator Dining does not own a liquor license for the Tippie Alumni Center. Therefore, the party responsible for the event must purchase the alcohol and make arrangements for it to be served. Gator Dining can, upon request, provide servers. The use of alcohol must adhere to all applicable state and local laws and College policies.

Decorations:
Nothing may be hung from, or attached to, any part of the interior or exterior building or landscape without first obtaining permission.
