Our Allegheny: Our Third Century Quest

The Quest Starts Here.

Allegheny is in the midst of a comprehensive fundraising campaign with a focus on building our endowment.

Right now, Allegheny’s endowment is less than many of our competitors, making it harder for us to compete and limiting our ability to fully make our vision possible.

What is Our Allegheny: Our Third Century Quest?

As we approach Allegheny’s 200th anniversary, the College will announce our campaign, Our Allegheny: Our Third Century Quest. It’s an ambitious goal, but one that will put us in line with our closest competitors and allow us to achieve our strategic priorities.

Why Give?

Because in addition to the obvious good that comes from your financial support, your gift also inspires others. You already motivate alumni by the work you do every day. When alumni learn that you also gave some of your paycheck back to the College and see the solidarity of commitment to the campaign on this campus, they will be inspired to participate generously as well. We saw this happen in the last campaign, and we are asking for your participation again today.

Your participation tells a story – and it’s a great one.

“As an undergraduate, I received scholarships that were funded by my college’s Annual Fund and donations from faculty and staff. In turn, I give to the Allegheny Annual Fund each month, as it is an easy way to help Allegheny provide the experience we value for our students.”

—James Fadden
Director of Information Technology Services

“Giving a small amount each month is something I decided to do, because getting to spend my life asking the big questions with smart, inspired young people is a privilege that I don’t want to take for granted.”

“I give to Allegheny because Allegheny takes its students – all of them – seriously. Allegheny’s faculty, staff, and administrators invest their heart and soul into the hard work of cultivating the successes our students haven’t yet learned to imagine as possibilities. And more than that, our students seem to recognize that the special opportunities this community provides are not the ordinary entitlements that come with the price of tuition.”

—Pam Higham
Assistant to the President

“All of us who dedicate our working days and careers to the College are part of something incredible. When we return even a small part of our earnings to Allegheny, it signifies to others that we work here for more than a paycheck. We commit ourselves to this place because we believe in the work that’s done on this campus for our students and by our students.”

—James Niblock ’97
Assistant Professor of Music
