The College Seal depicts Bentley Hall, with the sun rising behind it, and includes three inscriptions, set in concentric circles:
- Latin: “Seal of Allegheny College / Founded June 20, 1815 / Incorporated March 1817”
- Greek: “Add to your faith, virtue and to virtue, knowledge”
- Hebrew: “The desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose”
The official college seal is reserved for official College business and major events, as well as for communications related to the Office of the President. It is limited to that use at the discretion of the College Relations Office.
The modern college seal replaces the three inscriptions with the words “Allegheny College”. This version was developed for environmental designs that require a reference to Allegheny College, such as podiums and backdrops. It is limited to that use at the discretion of the College Relations Office.
