In addition to altering and constructing costumes for the mainstage productions, the costume shop is also home to dyes and costume crafts, We have a craft room with supplies for creating masks, prosthetics, millinery, and a 30-gallon dye vat. Students who are interested learn to use dyes, paints, and unconventional materials to age and distress clothing for stage.
The Costume Shop houses an array of equipment which students are trained to use, including both home and industrial use irons, sewing machines, steamers, and sergers. Students are also given the opportunity to learn costume history through navigating a large stock of period and contemporary clothing, shoes, and hats.
