A procession of the graduating class, dressed in academic regalia, opens the first of the official Commencement Weekend ceremonies. Along with the College Chaplain, faculty and students provide readings, reflections, music, and dance. A highlight of the event is a slideshow of the graduating class engaged in extracurricular activities.

12:00 p.m. (Sharp!) REHEARSAL FOR GRADUATES – Wise Center Performance Arena (rain or shine).
A mandatory meeting! Graduates, please arrive at noon in academic gown to get your seating assignment, line up position and receive instructions in advance of the Commencement Ceremony. We allow just enough time to accomplish this process, and your cooperation is appreciated (and needed). Graduates are honored individually, and we want to be sure you receive the right diploma! You will proceed directly from rehearsal to the Commencement Ceremony site.

1:30 p.m. ACADEMIC PROCESSION – Brooks Walk (Rain Location – Wise Center) This is the official procession of graduates across campus to the Bicentennial Plaza.

2:00 – 4:30 p.m. COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY – Bicentennial Plaza on Bentley Lawn (Rain Location – Wise Center Sports Forum)
The formal graduation ceremony! A formal procession of students and faculty in academic regalia opens this traditional ceremony. A Presidential welcome and presentation of the honorary degree recipients and their remarks precede the conferring of degrees upon degree recipients. In case of rain, the ceremony will be held in the Wise Center Sports Forum; closed circuit viewing will be set up in Raymond P. Shafer Auditorium. Even if the ceremony is held at the Bicentennial Plaza, a closed circuit broadcast will be available in nearby Schultz Banquet Hall for those who prefer to sit inside. Be prepared for any type of Meadville weather!

4:30 – 5:00 p.m. ALL-COLLEGE DEPARTMENTAL RECEPTION – Brooks Walk (Rain Location – Campus Center lobby)
An opportunity for graduates to introduce their family to faculty and staff and to say goodbye to classmates in an informal relaxed atmosphere.
