WebAdvisor Issues?

Posted by Jason Ramsey

If you’re still having trouble getting connected to WebAdvisor, please note the following. Last week, WebAdvisor was moved to a new server. The URL that should be used to connect to WebAdvisor is https://webadvisor.allegheny.edu The link on my.allegheny.edu will take you directly to the the new URL.

If you are unable to connect, it is important to clear your browser’s cache to ensure that old links are resolved. Here are tutorials for some popular browsers.

Firefox – http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-clear-firefox-cache

Chrome – http://support.google.com/chrome/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=95582

WebAdvisor Upgrade Complete

Posted by Jason Ramsey

The WebAdvisor upgrade was successful.

The only change apparent to the community is when connecting to WebAdvisor, your address bar should display “webadvisor.allegheny.edu” followed by a long string of technical information, not “webadvisor3.allegheny.edu”. If your browser continues to display “webadvisor3″, you are still connecting to the old server, which will be shut down soon.

To resolve this issue, you will need to reboot your computer. If that does not work, you may also need to clear your browser cache. (Instructions on doing so are here.)

Informer 4.3.3

Posted by Jason Ramsey

The Informer upgrade yesterday was completely successful. If you are having issues logging in or running reports, follow these customary steps to ensure you are connecting properly to the new version:

1. Ensure your version of Informer (seen in the lower righthand corner of the login screen says Version 4.3.3). If it does not…

2. Force a screen refresh, by pressing Shift-F5. If this does not help….

3. Follow these useful instructions from Google on how to clear your browser’s temporary internet files: http://support.google.com/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

AIS and TNS are planning to install a minor upgrade to the Informer web reporting tool on Thursday, March 28 at 3pm. We expect the upgrade to last up to two hours. Unlike most Informer upgrades, this particular operation requires the Informer server to be inaccessible for the duration of the upgrade.

Reports scheduled to run from 3pm to 5pm on Thursday may run after the upgrade is complete or not run at all.
