Allegheny College Computing Policies

As amended August 2010

All members of the Allegheny community are granted access to College computing resources and are expected to abide by these policies, which are designed to

  • allow for the equitable, fair, and responsible use of computing resources by all members of the community;
  • underscore the respect for intellectual labor and the creativity of others that is so vital to academic discourse and enterprise;
  • protect the privacy and integrity of individual computer users and their accounts within the limits imposed by normal network management procedures; and
  • identify mechanisms for redress for individuals or entities who feel that they have been subjected to harassment, plagiarism, theft, etc.

Use of computer facilities at Allegheny College implies that the user has read and understood these policies. Failure to abide by these policies may result in loss of computing privileges. For more information, please contact Computing Services.
