Allegheny College offers on-campus traditional residence hall housing for current students for the period of time they are participating in one or more of the following:
- Allegheny College student employee
- Students completing a College-approved internship
- Allegheny College research assistants
- Students enrolled in an affiliated local curricular/co-curricular-related course, program or study
- Approved international students
*”current student” is defined as an active student, or an accepted student who is expected to matriculate, a student who is not on a leave of absence and who does not have a hold for academic, disciplinary, or financial reasons. Graduating seniors will not be granted permission to stay in housing past Commencement.
Summer housing dates are defined as May 18th through July 31st. The 2017 summer housing rate is $10 per day, per person (plus occupancy tax). The daily charge will begin the date of key pick up and end the date the key is returned. Check in and check out is coordinated through the Office of Conference & Event Services located in Schultz Hall. At any time a student’s belongings are present in the room, whether the student is present or not, the room will be considered occupied by the student. All periods of occupancy will be charged.
The housing fee is collected from the student through monthly payment or payroll deduction. Appropriate form for the payroll deduction will be provided and is required for this payment method. Any unpaid balance will be applied to the student billing account. Any discount or funding applied toward the summer housing rate will be flagged as taxable income to be reported on IRS Tax Form 1099. Student housing will be discounted for PELL eligible students. Student housing may be funded through the grant/award process.
Allegheny does not offer general storage. Information for local storage options can be found on the Residence Life website under “frequently asked questions” here.
Registration for summer housing will be posted on My Allegheny for your completion. You must provide your supervisor’s contact information on your registration to be approved for summer housing. CES will verify that all program forms are submitted (i.e. employment form to Financial Aid). All students approved for summer housing will receive an email from CES and must sign the summer housing contract.
