Meghan Perry ’08

Fall 2007-Spring 2008 Davies Leader

“Main Street Program”
Meadville Redevelopment Authority

The Meadville Redevelopment Authority works to revitalize Meadville and increase its economic opportunities. In Summer 2007, the Redevelopment Authority began work on the Main Street Program to invigorate Meadville’s downtown area by promoting and advancing downtown businesses. Meagan worked to set up the Main Street Program in Meadville by working with different volunteers from the program on initiatives to enhance downtown Meadville. She also completed work for the Elm Street Program.

Meghan’s experience with the Redevelopment Authority has connected her to the community while allowing her to develop personal skills that she could not have accomplished in the classroom. Meghan feels completely connected to the community and sees Meadville’s potential. In addition, working on the Main Street project has been a perfect experience as it helped her to create her senior comprehensive project and contributed to her career goal to become a Main Street Manager.

Meghan is an Environmental Studies major and Religious Studies minor from Upper St. Clair in Pittsburgh. While the experiences she has had as a Davies Leader will make it hard for her to leave Meadville, Meghan also enjoys traveling to new areas.
