The Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) protects and restores the natural and built environments through innovation, collaboration, education and advocacy. PEC believes in the value of partnerships with the private sector, government, communities and individuals to improve the quality of life for all Pennsylvanians. In northwest PA, PEC has established the French Creek Project, using the incredibly diverse aquatic environment of French Creek as a living laboratory and a model for implementing local, regional and state policies that protect our environment.

In her first year as a Davies Leader, working at PEC, Jessie will conduct research, gather data, prepare brochures and other educational materials related to the projects and mission of PEC. She is involved in two projects wth PEC: landowner outreach and educatio nin the Northern Allegheny River Watershed and environmental problem solving with partners from Lake Erie-Allegheny Earth Force. Much of her work involves marketing.

Jessie is from Petaluma, California. Now a sophomore at Allegheny College, Jessie is working for a double major in Environmental Studies and Spanish. She has been involved in Allegheny’s Alternative Spring Break and has a passion for volunteering. She hopes to be involved in non-profit work after college as well.
