“Youth and Teen Center”
Meadville Family YMCA

The Meadville Family YMCA is a community service organization that puts positive principles into practice to build a “healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.” The YMCA has a youth and teen center upstairs, where local youth and teens can come for structured activities and access to play equipment, including air hockey, puzzles and games, play mats and a climbing wall.

Working with Hannah Fuller, Program Director, Michelle is part of the staff for the Youth and Teen Center. Michelle organizes, advertises and participates in many YMCA events surrounding the local youth and teens. She is a positive role model to teens at the center and has organized structured events for them to participate in. She has had yoga night and a Halloween party. She spends a great deal of time playing with the younger children who visit the center and is planning for a scavenger hunt.

Michelle hopes to form strong relationships with the kids and get them excited about the program. She has gotten to know some of the kids well and is learning how to handle such a diverse group of 6-16 year olds.

Michelle is a sophomore at Allegheny College. She is interested in Chinese and has studied French. Michelle has not yet declared a major. She is from Concord, New Hampshire, but has a passion for service in the local Meadville area.
