Margaret Hodgkiss-Lilly ’11

Summer 2008 Davies Leader

“Senior Center Development and Wii Nintendo Program”
Active Aging

Active Aging is a non-profit agency in Crawford County that provides useful resources to senior citizens to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. Margaret worked hard to plan events for the programs senior picnic. Margaret developed several other programs for the seniors, including the Nintendo Wii Project. Using the new Nintendo Wii system, Margaret got senior citizens involved in exercise, created a virtual bowling group, and had the members having fun on their feet. Margaret introduced this program to several other senior centers in the area.

Margaret’s position at Active Aging was very pleasant. She was able to met people she otherwise would not have. She says her experience at Active Aging has been helpful with her leadership skills. Margaret will continue at this Davies site during the 2008-2009 school year.

Margaret is from Cleveland Hts., Ohio. She is going into her second year at Allegheny College and is still weighing her options before declaring a major and minor.
