“A Taste of Meadville Through Continued Leadership”
Meadville/Western Crawford County Chamber of Commerce

The Meadville-Western Crawford County Chamber of Commerce’s Mission is to serve the Meadville community in order to facilitate its existence and growth. The Chamber works collectively for the community in the areas of economic, social, educational, and political development in order to enhance the overall quality of life.

Julia is going into her 2nd year as a Davies Community Service Leader for the Chamber. She has worked closely with Program Director Karen Staudt and will work with Judith Kyle, Chamber Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant. This summer, Julia will work with Judy to implement the planning for the 2009 Taste of Meadville. She will speak with area restaurants and encourage them to participate, design and layout the event program, and maintain financial controls of ticket sales and advertising income.

Julia is now very familiar with the work done at the Chamber of Commerce and will continue to assist the staff during busy times. She will be able to greet walk-in clientele and answer questions about the area and organization. Julia has always recognized the fact that the Chamber has few staff members and has been glad to take some of the workload. She has assisted other staff members in event planning and marketing, adding value to the Chamber’s membership. Karen says Julia is a responsible, hard working student and has been a great help to the agency.

Julia is from Cranberry Township, PA. She is a rising junior at Allegheny College. She is doing a double-major in Psychology and Neuroscience. She is philanthropy chair for Alpha Chi Omega. Julia is currently working on a research project with a professor while she fulfills her Summer Davies work.
