Examine ways in which Japan encourages an aspect of civic and cultural life that is grounded in traditional and contemporary approaches to public spaces, private accommodations, and everyday work and school environments in Tokyo, Hakone, Nagoya, Kyoto, Okayama, Naoshima, and Hiroshima. The cultural arts and media criticism elements embeds students in everyday experiences with the ability to critically examine issues from various cultural perspectives.
