The Erie Community Foundation offers the Dr. Alfred W. Stone Scholarship.  This fund offers merit-based scholarship to students:

This scholarship recognizes undergraduate students who draw upon their cultural heritage to shape their vocational aspirations, add creative value to their future employers, and serve their communities. Five students will receive $500 each.  DutchCrafters wants to recognize that the potential for creative value often lies within that which has been passed along from previous generations.

  • Be high school seniors or graduates or be current undergraduate students
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited U.S. four-year college or university for the entire 2012–13 academic year (excluding proprietary and online schools)

The Erie Community Foundation is home to 75 donor named scholarships, each of which has its own eligibility and criteria requirements.   • Must be under 25 years of age (as of May 30, 2012)
  • Must currently be a high school senior or in your first year at a university or college

The U.S. Army provides scholarships for up to four years to students pursuing an education in any accredited Medical, Dental, Optometry, Clinical or Counseling Psychology and Veterinary School.  The scholarship pays 100% tuition directly to the school.  There is a $20,000 sign-on bonus, a $2,088 living stipend monthly, and payment for books, fees, medical supplies and healthcare insurance included.

USDish.com is offering students a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship for college tuition. This scholarship is offered biannually. Applicants must write a 300 to 500 word article about the TV show or movie that has impacted society and why. Then, applicants are to post it on their blog or website (any blogging platform is acceptable; Social Media platforms do not count) with the embed code at the bottom of their post found on the USDish Entertainment Blogging Scholarship website. VENTURES SCHOLARS PROGRAM:

The Ventures Scholars Program is a national non-profit membership program designed to help high school students get connected with information, resources, and opportunities that will help them successfully pursue their career goals. The program seeks to aid underrepresented and first-generation college-bound students interested in pursuing math- and science-based careers.  The program contains a database of over 55,000 high school students nationwide.  Many colleges use this database to recruit students.

FRANK AND CLARA WILLIAMS SCHOLARSHIP:

The Frank D. and Clara R. Williams Scholarship is administered through Scholarship America.  Students who received awards for the 2011-2012 academic year were sent application forms to their home addresses on March 5, 2012 by Scholarship America. (They should not reapply on the new 2012 application.)  If they have misplaced their renewal form, they can contact Cherryl Reichel at Scholarship America at 507.931.8205 for a replacement form.  The scholarship deadline is June 10, 2012.  High school seniors can obtain a new application form if they are a resident of Venango county, PA at their high school guidance office.

 

PAUL HYLAND HARRIS SCHOLARSHIP:

  • Provides scholarships to students from Venango, Crawford, and Warren counties who wish to attend either Allegheny College or Harvard University
