I was an intern at the New Heritage Theatre Group (NHTG), the oldest Black non-profit theatre in New York, and the Harlem Arts Alliance. I helped compile the history of the theatre as well as assisting them with their young adult music groups.  However, during the summer months their greatest focus is producing HARLEMWEEK which is a month long celebration of Harlem and Black culture in general. I met quite a few interesting figures such as several members of the Panther 21, Afeni Shakur, and Joyce Waler-Joseph.  I found this internship through my former employer at the Apollo Theatre.  He had also been an intern under Voza Rivers, the executive producer of the NHTG.
