Open enrollment to add or change coverage to medical, dental, vision, HSA and FSA is now open. You have until June 20th to make a change and submit your forms to HR for a July 1st effective date.
Note: You do not need to do anything if you do not want to make any changes to your coverage. You will, however, need to complete new election forms if you want to continue to participate in the HSA, FSA Health Care or Dependent Care for 2016/17.
Please access the “Employee Benefits Enrollment Guide “for more information on how to add or change coverage. The most important pages in the Guide to read are pages 2 and 3. Both of these pages will provide you with an overview of the process, where to find rate information and enrollment/change forms and benefit summaries.
New for 2016/17:
- HSA employer contribution: $500 individual; $1,000 family (for employees earning less than $40,000)
- Spousal Surcharge – there will be a $100 monthly surcharge if your spouse chooses to enroll in Allegheny College’s medical plan AND they have affordable access to their employer’s group health plan. You will need to complete the “Affidavit for Spousal Coverage” (p.12) in order to not pay the surcharge.
- Prescription Drug Coverage – CVS Caremark will be the prescription drug plan administrator, members will receive a welcome packet in the next few weeks along with a separate Rx member ID card mailed to your home address (p. 5 & 6)
- Wellness Program – will continue to be available to employees with Allegheny College’s support however participation in the program is on a voluntary basis and will not be incentivized
Informational sessions were held on May 20 to discuss the new offerings and to answer any questions about the benefit plans. To view the presentation, click here. To view the Open Enrollment Guide, click here.
