Allegheny College, a selective liberal arts college located in northwest Pennsylvania, seeks a part-time graphic designer to support the communication and marketing efforts of the College. The position is a non-exempt, hourly paid position, requiring approximately 20 hours per week.
The design team creates a variety of materials and artwork for the College including print materials, direct mail, signage, and digital graphics for email and the website. The part-time designer will create and update materials, including conceptualization, design, file preparation for print, client communication, and file management including archiving.
Qualifications include: talent for and knowledge of design practices, including typography and layout design; a thorough knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator; strict attention to detail; ability to inspect content and organize information; the ability to work at a fast pace and to meet deadlines; an understanding of graphic identity standards and the ability to work within them; and excellent communication skills. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
