Allegheny College, a small selective national liberal arts college, invites applications for the position of Secretary. The position is a part-time non-exempt position supporting the President’s Office and the Executive Vice President’s office. The position is a 12-month position and will require 10 to 15 hours per week.
The position will work closely with the Assistant to the President and the Assistant to the Executive Vice President and will provide office support in the daily operations of both offices. Duties will include typing, filing, answering President’s Office and Executive Vice President’s Office phone lines, greeting visitors, preparing and proofreading correspondence, opening and sorting mail, arranging meetings and working with food service for lunch/dinner meetings, and assisting with preparations for Board of Trustee meetings.
Qualifications include excellent interpersonal and communication skills; excellent word-processing/typing skills; energetic, detail-oriented; customer focused; and able to represent the President’s Office in a manner creating a professional and welcoming environment. High school diploma and three to five years of office experience is required.
