Administrative Assistant
Marie has worked part-time as the Secretary to the Associate Dean since March 2008. She began her full-time status as of August 2010, as the Administrative Assistant for the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity & Access (IDEA). She also works full-time as the Administrative Assistant for the Associate Dean of the College, Terry Bensel.
She is a native of western Pennsylvania and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh were she received a master’s degree in Library and Information Science in 2001. Her undergraduate years were spent at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) where she earned a bachelor’s degree in 1992 in Elementary Education. She then went onto obtain a second teaching certification in deaf and hearing impaired from IUP in 1995.
Prior to returning to her Pennsylvania roots, Marie taught deaf and hearing impaired students in upstate New York for a number of years. She has also as worked as a county-wide library administrator, an elementary school librarian, and as an K-12 educational trainer.
