GLCA Student of Color Leadership Conference – November 4-5, 2011

The Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) and Center for Intercultural Advancement and Student Success (CIASS) is pleased to host the 21st Great Lakes Colleges Association (GLCA) Student of Color Leadership Conference (SOCLC). The conference will begin November 4 and conclude on November 6 on the campus of Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania.

This year’s theme is “New Decade, New Challenges: Access, Justice, Leadership, and Sustainability.” The GLCA SOCLC is the vehicle utilized to create and empower diverse collegiate students who attend member institutions. GLCA SOCLC is an intensive interactive three-day leadership experience. Held annually since 1990, this conference provides the participants with an opportunity to increase their effectiveness as leaders. The conference provides participants with information, exercises, and activities about leadership styles, practices, and theories. The conference provides an arena for the observation, critical thinking, discussion, and group interaction, while affording participants avenues for networking and interacting with national and international leaders who serve as keynote speakers, session presenters and facilitators.

The conference website is now under development and we encourage you to check back as more information is forthcoming.
