Count Day – January 31st

Tuesday, January 31st, is the college’s official Count Day when we verify that all of our records are in sync for this semester.

As we have done in the past, the Colleague system (including Colleague Advancement for Development) will not be available from 10am until the count process is complete, at the request of several administrative offices doing the work of ensuring the integrity of our system.  This freeze ensures that data remains unchanged during the count process.

Please remind everyone to mark on their calendars that they have to log off of Colleague by 10am Tuesday (or they will be logged off the system at 10am).  Logging off proactively helps ITS ensure that the system is unavailable more quickly for those involved to begin their work.

Related systems such as WebAdvisor or Informer will be unaffected by this shutdown and will remain available throughout.  ITS expects that we will be able to make Colleague available by Wednesday February 1st, at 8am.  If this is not the case, watch ITS News and Notes for additional updates.

ALERTAllegheny e2campus opt-in

Members of the Allegheny community not yet opted-in via email to the e2campus emergency messaging service will be opted in prior to Thursday’s test.

Sakai down for maintenance on Wednesday, November 2

Attention Allegheny students and faculty.

Sakai will be down for routine maintenance on Wednesday, November 2 and will be unavailable between 5:00 – 5:15 am. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Network Maintenance Could Cause Brief Disruption

On September 16 from 6:00 – 7:00pm there will be maintenance conducted on the College’s internet connection.  The maintenance will correct an issued identified earlier in the week that was resulting in slower speeds than appropriate given the 1GB connection the College has to the internet.

There is potential for a brief disruption as the primary connection is switched to the redundant connection allowing the network administrator and the ISP’s network engineer to make the necessary changes.

Virus Protection Server Update Scheduled

ITS will upgrade the virus protection server to the latest version on Friday, July 15th at noon. Following the upgrade clients should reboot their computer, this can be done at your earliest convenience.  Questions can be directed to the ITS Help Desk at x2755.
