Are you looking for a way to reduce food waste and give back to the community? Food Rescue is a student-run organization on campus that collects unused food from Brooks after lunches and dinners and delivers the food to St. James Haven, Women’s Services, and CHAPS. Volunteers are needed to rescue food from Brooks after meals (or other events as they occur) for the semester. The time commitment is 30 to 45 minutes per meal. Volunteers are also needed to help complete deliveries to the downtown agencies. The time commitment for this is 45 to 60 minutes. Volunteers do not have to have a car on campus to rescue or help with deliveries. Please contact foodrescue@allegheny.edu for more information.
