Faculty, staff, and students interested in “Concentrations”–a collaborative, interdisciplinary pilot initiative designed to explore and engage topics, themes, and problems that cut across disciplines and exceed traditional curricular boundaries–are invited to a meeting at 4 p.m. on September 30 in the Collaboratory (treats provided). This meeting is designed for anyone who wants to learn more about the initiative in general or the specific Concentrations that have been and are being developed by faculty, staff, and students: Science and Society, Law and Policy, Food Studies, Inequalities, Peace and Justice, Health and the Human Condition, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainability.
Concentrations link academic pursuits in and out of the classroom with ongoing educational opportunities in career education, internships, study away, civic learning, and community programming. Questions can be directed to Eric Boynton, Patrick Jackson, or Terry Bensel. Please RSVP for the meeting to Patrick Jackson (pjackson@allegheny.edu) via email.
