We’re looking for current first- and second-year students interested in serving in the Meadville community. Bonner Leaders are Allegheny students committed to working with local agencies in order to meet needs in the community. Each Bonner student is placed with a local nonprofit organization. Bonner Leaders work to recruit volunteers, develop programs for their site, and provide much needed support for the agency. It’s a great opportunity to have a service-oriented position that provides students with practical, real-life experience. Bonner Leaders receive compensation through work-study funds for the 300 hours completed during the school year.

BONNER LEADER COMMITMENT:
Serve 900 hours in the course of two years at a local nonprofit or social service agency. This commitment includes:
• Serving two summers and one academic year OR two academic years and one summer of service.
• During the academic year, Bonner Leaders work approximately 8-10 hours per week at a local nonprofit partnering site.
• Summer hours include 7-8 weeks of 40 hours of work per week at a local or away nonprofit partnering site.
• Attend a new Bonner orientation.
• Participate in regular meetings and leadership training.
• Participate in a fall overnight retreat and a one-day spring training.
Please contact Ellen Bach, Bonner Program coordinator in Civic Engagement in the Allegheny Gateway, by email at ebach@allegheny.edu or by phone at (814) 332-5318, to receive more information about filling out an application or if you have any questions.
