Biochemistry research opportunities are available within the Chemistry Department, under the direction of Dr. Garcia. Dr. Garcia’s research centers on understanding enzymes and ribozymes. All projects utilize kinetics and thermodynamics techniques as well as biological model systems. Eligibility: Students currently register for CHEM 120 or CHEM 231. Time commitment: One year research (Spring ’17 and Fall ’17 semesters). One credit each semester (4 hours/week) and attend group meetings once a week (1 hour).
