The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies is excited to welcome DeeAnn Spicer, a Philosophy in an Inclusive Key Summer Institutes (PIKSI) ambassador, to Allegheny. Spicer will give a talk followed by discussion from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Odd Fellows 206, on Tuesday, February 28. She will talk about her personal experience in philosophy as well as the PIKSI program, the application process, its impact and resources, applying to graduate schools, and under-representation of minority groups and women in philosophy.
On Wednesday, March 1, over lunch between 12:30 and 1:45 p.m. in Campus Center 303, the department will launch the Philosophy in Different Voices, an Allegheny faculty-student group for current students in the philosophy program and Allegheny students who are interested in philosophy.
