Bibliographical and Archive Internship Openings at the Modern Language Association

The Modern Language Association (MLA), currently led by Executive Director Rosemary G. Feal ’77, seeks three bibliographical interns for ­­summer 2017 to assist with research, testing, and administrative tasks relating to the historical archives of the MLA and to the MLA International Bibliography, the database of world languages and literatures.

Reporting principally to the MLA’s director of bibliographical information services, the bibliographical and archive interns will search for and update information on publishers and journals, analyze and update MLA bibliographical data, and assist with usability and error testing on various library platforms. The interns will digitize archival materials and assist with metadata creation, including the construction of subject and agent records following the Library of Congress Classification System. MLA interns receive a $700 stipend every other week and unlimited-ride Metrocards for the 10-week internship. Internship dates: Monday, June 6, through Friday, August 12.
