The Rev. Dr. Nancy Wilson, ’72, retired moderator of the Metropolitan Community Churches, a fully inclusive denomination, and Allegheny Chaplain Rev. Dr. Jane Ellen Nickell will offer a short course on Queer Folks and the Church in the spring semester. The class explores the ongoing conflict in Christian churches over the full inclusion of LGBTQ persons, especially around ordination and marriage. Students prepare short reflection papers based on assigned readings for four discussion sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, March 6 and 8, and March 13 and 15 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Students will also serve as discussion facilitators at a Saturday workshop with area clergy and church members on Saturday, March 10, from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information, contact Jane Ellen Nickell at jnickell@allegheny.edu or (814) 332-2800.
