The Lake Effect Leaders AmeriCorps VISTA project is looking for graduating seniors interested in living and serving in Northwestern, PA. Positions will begin in early August for sites based in Crawford and Erie counties. The mission of Lake Effect Leaders is to build the capacity of government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and schools to collaboratively address issues related to poverty. Every year, Lake Effect Leaders places 20-plus VISTA members regionally to build capacity in areas of economic development, education, healthy futures, and veterans and military families. Volunteers commit to one year of service, and receive a living allowance and healthcare allowance among other benefits. More information on the LEL project can be found here.
