The Institute for the Recruitment of Teachers (IRT) was founded in 1990 to “deepen the pool of talented minorities entering the teaching profession in our country.” This organization recruits undergraduate students nationwide who are passionate about social justice and are interested in teaching at the K-12 or college level. The institute accepts applications from juniors and seniors with at least a 3.0 GPA who plan to pursue a MAT, MA, or PhD in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
