MEADVILLE, Pa. – Oct. 21, 2009 – Reduced Shakespeare – a three-man comedy troupe known for taking long, serious subjects and reducing them into short, sharp comedies – will perform all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays in just 97 minutes on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 8 p.m. in Shafer Auditorium on the Allegheny College campus.
Described as an irreverent, fast-paced romp through the bard’s plays, “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)” was London’s longest-running comedy, with 10 years at the Criterion Theatre. The performance has been praised as “wildly funny” by the Los Angeles Times and as “the funniest show you are likely to see in your entire lifetime” by the Montreal Gazette.
Ticket prices for the performance are $15 for adults; $10 for children under 12; and $7.50 for students with an Allegheny AllCard. Tickets can be purchased at www.allegheny.edu/events or by calling Allegheny’s Office of Conference and Event Services at (814) 332-3101.
