Jennifer Dearden To Present Trumpet Recital at Allegheny College

Feb. 4, 2013 – Jennifer Dearden will present a trumpet recital at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10 in Ford Chapel at Allegheny College. The recital is free and open to the public.

She will be assisted by Alec Chien, piano; Kevin Dill, organ; and Vicki Jamison, soprano. The recital will include Concerto in F minor, Op. 18, by Oskar Boehme; Andante et Allegretto by Guillaume Balay; At the Round Earth’s Imagined Corners, by Geoffrey Burgon; and Rose Variations, by Robert Russell Bennett.

Dearden received her BM degree from Ithaca College, her MM from Florida State and her DMA from the University of North Texas. In 2007 she joined the faculty of Allegheny College, where she teaches trumpet lessons and music theory. She also coaches chamber brass ensembles at the college.

Dearden performs regularly as a cornetist with the River City Brass, a brass band based in Pittsburgh. She has also performed as a featured soloist with the Erie Chamber Orchestra.
