Single Voice Reading Series To Present Writer Christopher Bakken

April 11, 2013 — The Single Voice Reading Series at Allegheny College will close out its 2012-2013 season on Thursday, April 18, with a reading by Christopher Bakken at 7 p.m. in the Tillotson Room of the Tippie Alumni Center. The reading is free and open to the public.

Bakken is the author of two books of poetry, “Goat Funeral” and “After Greece,” as well as a culinary memoir titled “Honey, Olives, Octopus: Adventures at the Greek Table.” He also co-translated “The Lions’ Gate: Selected Poems of Titos Patrikios.”

He has been awarded the T.S. Eliot Prize in Poetry, the Willis Barnstone Translation Prize and the Helen C. Smith Memorial Award from the Texas Institute of Letters. A member of the faculty at Allegheny College, he served as a Fulbright Fellow in American Studies at the University of Bucharest.
