Career Journalists Larry James and Sonja Pace To Speak on “Memoirs from War Zones”

April 19, 2013 — Two radio journalists, Larry James and Sonja Pace, will speak at Allegheny College at 8 p.m. on Monday, April 22 in the auditorium in Quigley Hall. The two will share their experiences covering conflict in Rwanda, Bosnia, Afghanistan and the Middle East. Their presentation, titled “Dispatches: Memoirs from War Zones,” is free and open to the public.

James, a veteran of the Vietnam War, has reported from more than 50 countries. He is the author of “Unfortunate Sons: A True Story of Young Men and War.”

Pace has spent 36 years as a foreign correspondent with Voice of America, covering conflict in Iraq, Somalia, Israel and the West Bank, among other places.

Earlier in the day Pace and James will be speaking to students in Professor Cheryl Hatch’s journalism class on covering conflict.
