Allegheny College Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble To Present Free Concert

April 21, 2014 — The Allegheny College Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble, both under the direction of Ronald Stitt, will present a free concert at 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 27 in Shafer Auditorium.

The Wind Symphony program will include the Emperata Overture by Claude Smith, “Puszta” by Jan Van der Roost, “Variations on a Shaker Melody” by Aaron Copland and “Nobles of the Mystic Shrine” by John Philip Sousa, among other works.

The Wind Ensemble will perform Donald Hunsberger’s “Dancin’ Into the 20’s” and will feature senior bassoonist Scott Kirk performing von Weber’s “Hungarian Rondo.”
