Senior Bailey Blashford To Give Vocal Recital in Ford Chapel

Oct. 30, 2014 – Soprano Bailey Blashford will present a senior recital at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 in Ford Chapel at Allegheny College. The recital is free and open to the public.

Blashford will perform arias from the Brahms Requiem, Handel’s “Atalanta,” Offenbach’s “La Perichole,” Weber’s “Der Freischütz,” Puccini’s “La Bohéme” and Victor Herbert’s “Mlle Modiste.” Also on the program are art songs by Debussy and Michael Head.

Her accompanist will be Professor Emeritus of Music Ward Jamison.

Blashford, who has studied voice privately for eight years, is a vocal student of Vicki Jamison’s at Allegheny College. An economics major with an English minor, she is a member of the College Choir, Chamber Choir and Chamber Singers. In addition to vocal performance, she has appeared onstage in Allegheny’s Playshop Theatre and Meadville’s Academy Theatre productions.
