Allegheny College Jazz Band’s Free Concert To Feature Swing, Funk, Rock and Jazz

Oct. 31, 2014 — The Allegheny College Jazz Band will perform their annual fall concert on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 3:15 p.m. in the lobby of the college’s Campus Center. The concert is free and open to the public.

The program features swing, funk, rock and jazz. Compositions include “Here’s That Rainy Day,” “A Child Is Born,” “Get It On,” “Yesterday,” “It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing),” “Fly Me to the Moon,” “25 or 6 to 4,” “September,” “Cool” and “Pennsylvania 6-5000.” Instrumental soloists and a vocal soloist will be showcased.

The ensemble, made up of 22 students and one faculty member, is under the direction of Stephen F. Corsi.
