Cookies and Milk Holiday Concert Offers Two Performances

Nov. 24, 2014 — The Dance and Movement Studies Program at Allegheny College presents its annual holiday concert for families and children, Cookies and Milk, on Sunday, Dec. 7, with performances at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the college’s Montgomery Performance Space. The concert is free and open to the public.

Refreshments will be served at 3 p.m. in the Campus Center lobby. Members of Creating Landscapes for Families, a local organization that brings families together to focus on positive possibilities in the community, will be baking the cookies served this year.

Performing will be Allegheny College students from the ballet, modern and T’ai Chi courses as well as the student jazz dance group JaDE. Students in the community contra course will dance with children and families from the Meadville community in a family dance to live music.

Another highlight of the concert will be an audience involvement piece guided by local dancer Doug Lodge.

In keeping with the seasonal spirit of giving, there will be a collection box for Toys for Tots at the concert. Audience members can demonstrate appreciation for the entertainment by contributing a toy to be given to a child who might otherwise not receive holiday presents.

To make reservations for the concert, call the Dance and Movement Studies office at 814-332-3388.
