Three Allegheny Voice Faculty to Give Recital

Feb. 2, 2015 — Allegheny College voice teachers Carol Niblock, Diane Kalinowski and Vicki Jamison will present a free vocal recital at 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8 in Ford Chapel on the Allegheny campus.

The three sopranos will present a recital of opera duets and trios. The program will include duets from Purcell’s “King Arthur,” Mozart’s “La Clemenza di Tito,” Menotti’s “The Old Maid and the Thief” and two Bellini operas: “Norma” and “Bianca e Fernando.” All three singers will be heard together in trios from “Beatrice et Benedict” by Berlioz, “Der Rosenkavalier” by Strauss, “Carmen” by Bizet and “The Magic Flute” by Mozart.

Diane Kalinowski joined the voice faculty in 2010. Carol Niblock graduated from Allegheny in 2002 and returned as a voice teacher in 2012. Vicki Jamison began teaching at Allegheny in 1981. The singers will be accompanied by Professor of Music Emeritus Ward Jamison.
