Talk at Allegheny College To Focus on Political Participation and Transitional Society in Egypt

DandavatiFeb. 3, 2015 – Annie Dandavati, professor of political science at Hope College, will present a talk titled “Brothers, Sisters and Soldiers: Political Participation and Transitional Society in Egypt” at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9 at the Tippie Alumni Center at Allegheny College.

Dandavati’s talk, which is part of Allegheny College’s Year of Voting Rights and Democratic Participation, will focus on Egypt and the role of the Muslim Brotherhood, gender and the military.

Chairperson of the Department of Political Science at Hope College, Dandavati also serves as director of international studies. Her areas of interest include comparative politics, democratization, gender and development, and human rights.
