Allegheny College Jazz Band’s Free Concert to Feature Swing, Funk, Ballad, Jazz and Rock

Nov. 9, 2015 — The Allegheny College Jazz Band will perform their annual fall concert on Sunday, November 15 at 3:15 p.m. in the lobby of the college’s Campus Center. The concert is free and open to the public.

The program features swing, funk, ballad, jazz and rock. Compositions include “In the Mood,” “L.O.V.E.,” “Beyond the Sea,” “Slam,” “Birdland,” “One Moment in Time,” “All the Things You Are,” “Day Tripper,” “Doxy,” “Mack the Knife,” “What’ll I Do?” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”

Instrumental soloists and a vocal soloist will be showcased.

The ensemble, made up of 25 students and one faculty member, is under the direction of Stephen F. Corsi.

Prior to the Jazz Band performance, the Mallet Ensemble and AC Jazz Combo will perform blues, ragtime, swing and jazz beginning at 2:30 p.m.
