Recent Allegheny Graduate Dan Cheung Named Academic All-America

Recent Allegheny College graduate Dan Cheung has been named Academic All-America by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Cheung becomes the 36th CoSIDA Academic All-American in Allegheny history and the seventh Gator track and field athlete to earn the honor.

To be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America, a student-athlete must be in at least their sophomore year of eligibility, maintain a cumulative grade point average over 3.30, and be a top contributor athletically. Cheung was moved to the Academic All-America ballot after being selected Academic All-District in mid-May.

A standout in cross country and track and field, Cheung graduated in May with a degree in English and double minors in education and political science. He was recently awarded a prestigious Fulbright grant and will put it to use this fall when he travels to Kenya to teach English.
