Neurologist Fred Marshall on “Mindfulness and Medicine”

Neurologist Fred Marshall will speak on “Mindfulness and Medicine” on Monday, April 3 at 7 p.m. in the Tillotson Room of the Tippie Alumni Center as part of Allegheny’s ongoing Year of Mindfulness.
Marshall is chief of the Division of Geriatric Neurology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, where he founded the Memory Care Program, a multidisciplinary clinic for people suffering with dementia. He is a core faculty member in the U of R’s pioneering mindfulness curriculum for medical students and residents. Along with his colleagues, Ronald Epstein, Mick Krasner and Patricia Lück, Fred has co-facilitated twice yearly residential trainings for medical educators from around the world (Mindful Practice: Enhancing Quality of Care, Quality of Caring and Resilience) at the Rochester Zen Center’s Chapin Mill retreat since 2011.
