Summer Communication

Once new students have submitted a deposit to the Office of Admissions, the Learning Commons will send communications to those students and their families throughout the summer. These communications contain information regarding access to Allegheny email, the summer registration process, housing assignments, and our Fall orientation program.

Please refer to the following schedule for further information about communications you will receive from the Learning Commons by mail. Students will also receive various electronic communications throughout the summer, so they should be sure to frequently check both their Allegheny email and their WebAdvisor account.

Initial Deposit Mailing

Sent to the student’s home address after the deposit is received

  • Welcome letter including your Allegheny student ID number, username, and password, and information on how to access your email and WebAdvisor accounts
  • Medical History and Health Examination form
  • Voluntary Disclosure of a Disability form
  • Student Request to Share Information (FERPA) form

Sent to the student’s home address during the second week of May

  • Registration information:
    • Overview of the summer registration process

June Parent/Guardian Mailing

Sent to the address of any parents/guardians on file with the College

July Entrance Advising / Course Registration

July 16th – 20th and July 23rd – 27th, 2012

The May mailing includes guidelines for the advising and course registration process. In late June, students will receive an email that specifies the date and time for their assigned registration appointment with their entrance advisor.

During the student’s registration appointment, their entrance advisor will help the student select and register for Fall 2012 courses via telephone.

July Mailing

Sent to the student’s home address during the second week of July

  • 2012-2013 room assignment and roommate information from the Office of Residence Life
  • Information regarding the required AlcoholEDU survey

August Mailing

Sent to the student’s home address during the first week of August

  • Information on Fall Orientation programs and Residence Hall Move-In
  • Letters from the Honor Committee and the Office of Alumni Affairs
