Philosophy and Religious Studies

Philosophy and Religious Studies have a variety of awards which are awarded to juniors and seniors annually.

 

Philosophy Faculty Prize
This is awarded for overall excellence in the study of philosophy at Allegheny College.

Outstanding Junior Major Prize in Philosophy
This is awarded for overall excellence in the study of philosophy at Allegheny College.

• 2011:  Benjamin Bussewitz, Class of 2012

The Voegtly Prize is given in honor of Henry J. Voegtly and his commitment to religious life at Allegheny College.  This award is given to the senior student showing general excellence in the field of Religious Studies.

• 2011:  Anthony Dipre, Class of 2011

The Outstanding Junior Major Prize in Religious Studies is awarded for exceptional academic achievement, performance in the seminar and contribution to the general life of the department.
