New Courses! Special Topics 193, Civil Rights and Democratic Participation

These one-credit courses, Credit/No Credit courses are designed to foster conversations about Allegheny’s Bicentennial events.

Course description:

An exploration of issues surrounding civil rights and the possibility of democratic participation by engaging lectures and events celebrating the Bicentennial of Allegheny College. The goal is to facilitate conversation among Allegheny students, staff, and faculty committed to experiencing and reflecting on the Bicentennial events together. Students attend Bicentennial events and lectures and post reflections on a public blog. Additional assignments related to specific disciplinary sections may be included. One semester credit hour. Students may enroll for only one section of “Civil Rights and Democratic Participation” each semester.
